Time to practice!
You are now ready to practice understanding arguments. You could skip right to the more applicable skills on this website, such as constructing your own arguments. However, we recommend you take some time to practice understanding arguments, as this skill serves as a foundation for many others. In fact, while developing your understanding of arguments, you'll probably notice that you get better at making arguments and engaging with your colleagues' arguments, even without separately practicing those skills.
Using diagrams to show the structure of arguments has a long history. If you are interested, here is a recent study of their effectiveness:
